Weekly Inspiration #14

Hello Great Lakes Region!!!!

May I say you are all looking FAB-U-LOUS!!!! This Thriving Thursday!

During this week I found myself moping around my house, one because I began feeling under the whether, but also I wasn't happy. These can be very strong words even for someone as simple as myself. Then I began to think to myself that I have all the reason to feel happy, I have accomplished so much and made plenty of people laugh, and been there for everyone that I meet.

Well...Boy was I wrong... Those events and things may have happened but that wasn't what would make me happy. I came across this quote and it all fell directly into place for me...

Happiness does not consist in pastimes and amusements but in virtuous activities.
~Aristotle

I
realized that relishing  all of my past activities weren't going to get me out of this funk, but taking the time to focus on the Christ self inside me and truly feel happy is the answer. When you are truly happy, then you can even make others happy.

Fall Retreat Update

Dear Region,

In light of all of the events that have happened at June Rally, there has been a decision made about whether Fall Retreat is going to be happening......The board has come to the decision to cancel Fall Retreat. Yes, this is difficult for everyone to take in but this is what has to be done, as a region what happened with the senior guys it had to be presented as something that could not be taken lightly.

As the strong region that we all know we are... we all must hold this in positive and loving light. What we have to see what will come from this. I agree that it will be hard not to have a Fall Retreat, but this will give us a chance to develop our spiritual relationships with other chapters. Also, we can see the lesson here of the ripple effect, that what happened not only affected all of the boys who took part but the entire region. Showing us that with every action there is a positive and/or negative re-action.

If you have any questions feel free to contact.....

Weekly Inspiration #13
Dear YOUers of the Greatest of Lakes, I've recently learned a valuable lesson. Life can change. You probably thinking "duh Michael!" but when your really into doing something you or I tend to get caught up in it. Sometimes we find something that works in our lives and try to stick with it. Even if what your doing starts to hinder us, we still try to keep in with us because it becomes a part of who we are. This happens anything from eating fast food constantly to playing video games or even into certain relationships. We sometimes feel that letting go of somethings we have been doing for a while may make our lives worse but alot of the time changing up your lifestyle can affect you in a positive way. If you find that changing was the wrong decision then you can always try and reinstate that part of your life back or find something different. Life is like a river, constantly moving. If we try and resist it we cannot get anywhere. So flow on beautiful beings!
Regional Tid Bits: Hannah, Eileen, and I had an amazing planning meeting 2 weeks ago where we came up alot of amaaaaazing ideas for June. We are so so so excited to show you guys all of the things we are currently concocting muahaha! We all look forward to seeing you at all of the upcoming events. In light and love, Michael

Weekly Inspiration #12

Hey every beautiful person in the region,

How many of you have gone through a day and came across a human identifier? We all know what these are...(jock, prep, random girl with short hair, skater etc...) well these aren't important! you know why? because these people may, indeed, make these names for you but that just doesn't matter, because the only person who's opinion that you should worry about is your own. In fact unless I'm HORRIBLY mistaken, it is your own life and you can take control and not care. Like in the famous Green Day song, " It's something unpredictable but in the end is right, I hope you have the time of your life." And these are true works of wisdom because we don't know what could be around the corner or whom. This does not mean you shouldn't enjoy every second, and discover how your Christ Self wants to express its self.

Extra- Extra: This is the regional news coming to you live from Hannah's Bed room, and our special guest for this evening is Rosco the Friendly Lion. He wants to remind everyone to continue on reading I or the Storm by : Gary Simmons. Also for those of you that would like to take up in some leadership at your chapter there is TWO things you could potentially take part in!!! One being the Leadership Training at Camp Duncan on March 23-25. The second, you can apply to be a YOU Staff Member for the spring Unitreat. If you have any questions on either of those two activities, feel free to ask Michael or myself, but most importantly your sponsor.

Namaste,
Hannah :)

Weekly Inspiration
Your Spiritual Milk n' Cereal: When I first saw the bumper sticker that reads : TOLERANCE made with many different symbols, I was confused. I thought, "why do we just want to tolerate things instead of accepting them?" Well after thinking for a while on this I realized that I cannot accept everything that goes on in life. I have different views than other people so I cannot just give up my own views to accept theirs; however I can tolerate it. Dictionary.com defines Tolerance as: a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one's own. Sometimes this can be easy to do, especially when we have similarities in our beliefs. The hardest part of tolerance is tolerating others that will not tolerate you. You can try and explain your views to other people but if they do not have the intention of at least tolerating your ideals, then it is very hard for them to do that. The one thing we can do to help prevent this is to tolerate others and know that it will be mirrored back to us in some form.
Regional News: Hello beautiful YOU! The Regional Team is getting together next week to do some planning, very exciting! Also we are putting on a lesson in Renaissance Unity. Any Regional Candidates that have not yet notified us should do soooo....ASAP! Thank you and have a woooonderful week
