Future Regional Officers
Has it ever crossed your mind...
...that you might like to be a regional officer one day? If it has ever crossed your mind we suggest that you read through this page thoroughly. Even if you are only a freshman or have only attended one event, if you feel that it is something that calls to you, you should start to prepare early. How to Prepare
So you have an interest in becoming a Regional??
So here is where to start:
1st Talk with your sponsor, and minister. Listen to what they say and ask for suggestions. If you don’t already, take a role in your church and in your youth program, not just Y.O.U., but also Uniteens and/or Unikids.
2nd Talk with the current Regionals. See if there is anything you can do with the region just to become more comfortable with creating material, and talking in front of crowds.
3rd Download the "What Do I Do" Document". This explains the qualifications, responsibilities and skills required of regional officers. It will also give you information on how to build these skills.
4th Request paper work. When the time comes for you to get your application, talk with your YOU sponsor and have them email Rev. Eileen Patra, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Application packets will be available after January 1st and must be requested by April 1st Completed applications must be postmarked by May 1st.
Thing you should consider…
- Am I comfortable speaking in front of Large groups of people?
- Can I prioritize my student life… ex: family, school, friends, “me time”
- Do I have an email?---(you need one)
- How good is my availability?
- Am I good at getting back with people right away?
- Can I be sure that I can keep track of deadlines and keeping to them?
- Am I ready to grow as a person from this experience?
- Can I work well with a partner?

How to Get the Application Packet?
When you are ready, have your sponsor contact Rev. Eileen Patra. The forms must be requested before April 1st and postmarked before May 1st.
