Fun Fact 1: Once while preparing to give a speech in the Milwaukee during a campaign, a crazed man attempted to assassinate Theodore Roosevelt, and shot him with a pistol at nearly point blank range. Roosevelt declared "it will take more than that to kill a bull moose!" and finished the lengthy
speech before visiting a hospital

Fun Fact 2:
Time moves slower near the Pyramid due to the gravitational red shift which states that mass can affect time.

Quote:
“The purpose of your life is to discover and perfect your gift…The meaning is to share it with others”  -David Viscott

Bible Quote:
“The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; the go down to a man’s inmost parts

Affirmation:
I think for myself with the light of God!

Goal for the week:
Share your gift with someone you haven’t felt connected to recently. Even if you just call them and catch up, letting them know your interests, they will appreciate your message and you will get a kick of energy from talking about something you’re passionate about. Knowledge is always the greatest gift you can give to anyone.

Goal for the week #2:
Donate 500 grams of rice from improving your vocabulary, chemistry, or foreign language knowledge on www.freerice.com

Food for thought: Yesterday I just returned from a two week trip to France visiting my family. Although it was bad timing for my trip I was excited to go, especially to see my half-brother for the second time. My sister however was much more negative about the trip. The first few days were fine but by the 6th day my sister had had enough and the negative energy flowed out. However being that I was the only person there she had to talk to who spoke English, all of it was being sent to me, even though her negative
feelings weren’t directed towards me. Things I’d loved such as the extremely lengthy two hour meals we’d have, or hearing people speak French around me all day really annoyed her, and once she started pointing out all the “flaws” with their systems started to annoy me too! This deeply upset me because I was looking forward to the trip and I didn’t want my sister’s obvious unhappiness to be associated with me as well. So I decided to take some alone time and remember that I have my own thoughts and emotions. All it took was for me to acknowledge that the feelings she was having weren’t my feelings and I could look at hers separately and remain positive while still trying to support her and make her trip a bit more enjoyable. For the day or two I was allowing myself to absorb the negative energy I felt sick
and angry and not to mention embarrassed that I was acting so immature. So yesterday when my dad said “Mathilde, I didn’t get a chance to talk to you about your attitude on this trip while we were there…” in a serious tone I automatically thought I was getting yelled at. In fact, he ended that statement with “I’m so proud of you and your positivity on the trip. It made me even more proud to be your dad.” The lesson to be learned from this is know who your audience is before you start speaking. Sometimes you may
need to vent you frustrations about a topic but if you’re venting to someone who looks up to you, such as a little sister would look up to a big sister, they may adopt those feelings as there own. I think if I wasn’t so aware and in tune with the energy that is around me and how to counteract
it, I would have had the same negative experience as my sister did.  Instead, I can’t wait to go back next year!
