Weekly Inspiration: #12

Fun Fact: A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out.
Quote: Just because you can understand the mechanics of something does not make it any less of a miracle- From True Blood
Bible Quote: "The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come."--Song of Solomon 2:12
Affirmation: I am the miracle!!
Service Idea: Recently my chapter (Fox Valley) has been undergoing some new changes. Our church is being fixed up before winter sets in and so everything is mixed up and crazy. Our room had to be taken apart for wonderful wall repair and we are going to be getting new floors in soon. A wonderful way to get some service is to help out in your church. Sometimes we get so focused on service outside
of chapter that we forget that there are always things going on with the congregation around us! Take some time, either alone or with your chapter, to see what you can do to help around your church. For example, my wonderful chapter is currently putting together a new peace chapel for our Unity Community. There is always stuff going on at our churches and they love it when we take a little time to help out!!
Food For Thought: In Unity, we hear a lot about the Law of Mind Action and that our thoughts are prayers. Have you ever decided to act on those principles and started saying affirmations but then promptly forgot them or forgot to really think about them? Well maybe it's just me, but that happens ALL THE TIME and sometimes I even write them down and I still manage to loose them or forget about them. Well I have come up with a solution and I'm telling you it really works!! I made some cards that say positive words on them like: Miracle, Dream, Begin, Dare, and Enjoy and I created affirmations around them. Ex: I begin each day with good intentions. I took the word Imagine and created an affirmation from the letters: I manifest and grow in new energy! Each of these I put on the wall where my bed is and every morning I wake up and bingo! they are right there in front of me!! They are intentions that can apply to each day. It is so true that you get to decide how each day is, how much fun you have or the opposite. I wake up and I start to think of what my intention for the day is, to work hard, to relax or to stay calm! Once I think about my intention then the rest of the day I work towards it, the idea is always in the back of my mind. It may seem corny but I have had such a good start to my days that I won't give it up. It used to be so hard for me to roll out of bed in the mornings but now I do it with excitement. Sometimes something positive in the morning is a lot better than waking up to just the bland idea of another school day.
Note from Jo: Last week’s inspirational asked the question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Well, sometimes the answer comes back, “Everything happens for a reason”. So what does that mean? What was the reason? With whatever happened, was the result because of someone’s wrong choice? Do we sometimes say it must have been God’s will because we don’t want to look at the cause? So I think we need to be really clear when we use the statement, “everything happens for a reason.” There are some things that happen and we really can’t explain, but so many things happen because of decisions we make. God’s will for us is absolute good, love, peace and harmony and being co-creators of our life.
Chapter Tidings:
It's been a busy weekend here in Kalamazoo, had regional training with Diane Venzera, Children's Consulstant on Saturday.
Then a fund raiser for Y.O.U. that raised $700.00 net on Sunday and we are pretty excited about that.
One of our Y.O.U.ers (Mattie Moyet) father is a really good and well known chef and he came in and prepared a meal of Chicken Marsla over Pennie Pasta and a chocolate Torte' for Dessert. Our Y.O.U.ers where awesome, we created an atmosphere of a five star restaurant and they stepped up and took care of our guests amazingly.
TOTALY IMPRESSED Reverend Marty, the board and the congregants.
-Chuck Holman, Youth Director
