Weekly Inspiration #26
January 4th 2009

January
The month is January and the power for this month is Faith. Faith is represented through the color blue and by the disciple Peter. Faith is one of the single most important driving factors in peoples lives and in their actions. Faith almost always plays a small part in the things we do, whether we realize it or not. Faith is the ignition to our actions and change who we are and who we are to become. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, not seen. When we are confident in our faith, we empower ourselves with new energy that comes from all around us. Faith is belief in something so strong, something so true to you, that you would need no proof for you to continue to believe as you do. The most beautiful thing about faith is that is entirely yours and serves you only as you allow it to. No one can take it from you becuase it comes from within. In the month of January, we begin our new year, and faith in what is to come is something that will be very important in actually shaping what is to come in the year 2010. With our faith and our convictions, we will have the confidence and the strength to see our visions come true in full force. So in this new year, utilize this faith and shape the world.
Weekly Affirmation
I have faith in God, I have faith in spirit, I have faith in things invisible.

He Needed Me

A nurse escorted a tired, anxious young man to the bed side of an elderly man. "Your son is here," she whispered to the patient. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened. He was heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack and he dimly saw the young man standing outside the oxygen tent.

He reached out his hand and the young man tightly wrapped his fingers around it, squeezing a message of encouragement. The nurse brought a chair next to the bedside. All through the night the young man sat holding the old mans hand, and offering gentle words of hope. The dying man said nothing as he held tightly to his son.

As dawn approached, the patient died. The young man placed on the bed the lifeless hand he had been holding, and then he went to notify the nurse.

While the nurse did what was necessary, the young man waited. When she had finished her task, the nurse began to say words of sympathy to the young man.

But he interrupted her. "Who was that man?" He asked.

The startled nurse replied, "I thought he was your father."

"No, he was not my father," he answered. "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?" asked the nurse.

He replied, "I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, I knew how much he needed me..."

Here we have a list of powerful affirmations. Remember that these are everlasting tools we can use to change our thoughts and help us through hard times. If ever you find yourself somewhere you don't wish to be, dont hesitate to use the power of affirmation to assist you.

Note from Jo:    I'd like to share a quote created by Rev. Jack Boland back when Renaissance Unity was Church of Today.
It is for the new year:  "In me is infinite wisdom, a creative intelligence, with a perfect plan for my life.  In me my
future is already formed.  In this moment I can declare the kind of day I will experience, the kind of year that will follow.
Therefore, I decide this year will be my greatest year.  A year in which I will demonstrate God's miracle working power
to create a new me.......to recreate a new world around me............."
