Quote: "We will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles."- Thomas Edison

Bible Quote: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6

Affirmation: I’m so powerful I can light up the whole world!

Goal for the Week: The weathers great, why not hug 5 trees!

Food for Thought: Power is greatly misunderstood. Some believe that power comes from violence. Look at the Israel Palestine conflict; they have been fighting off and on for about 50 years. They both value the same piece of land, but decided that they can’t share with each other, so they try to destroy each other. The two sides may appear powerful because of they have hefty militaries, big scary walls with armed guards, and they are in a place of significance on the world stage. This “power” is nothing more than an illusion. Anyone with the expressed interest to destroy life shows a clear sign of weakness. If someone feels that they need to destroy others so they may feel a sense of empowerment, it is artificial because it is power over others, it does not come from within. It leaves the dominant reliant on others, which is neither reliable nor sustainable, while power from within is genuine, free, and sustainable. It’s like when someone is bulling you, they are trying to dominate and destroy things valued by you which is the same as destruction of life. The bully is really weak because he or she relies on your destruction to feel empowered, so this can’t honestly bring him or her much power at all. If the bully had looked for a power within he or she wouldn’t feel the need to take from anyone or anything.  So someone who is truly powerful is someone who puts their drive behind their passions, and shares them with the world.

Note from Jo: On a Southwest Airlines flight, a flight attendant announced, "We have a very special person on board today.  He's 99 years old, he's celebrating his birthday, and this is the first time he's ever flown!"  The cabin breaks out in light applause.  She continues to say, "On the way out, stop by the cockpit and wish him a happy birthday!"  The cabin exploded in laughter!

Just how important is laughter?  A recent study revealed that laughter is Key to our mental wellness. The study, in fact, stated that we need a minimum of 12 laughs a day...just to stay healthy! Mark Twain said, "The human race has only one effective weapon and that is laughter. The moment it arises, all your irritations go away, and a sunny spirit takes their place."  Laughter is a wonderful thing, share it with others.  When you laugh the endorphins kick in and you feel better.
From that same flight attendant, went on to say "Welcome aboard Southwest Airlines.   To operate your seatbelt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seatbelt, and if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised. In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with two small children, decide now which one you love more.  And from the pilot during his welcome message: "We are pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the industry ...Unfortunately none of them are on this flight!          ........come on, at least this has to make you smile!!
